Analytics & Reporting

Know where your enquiries come from.

We set up tracking around the actions that matter: calls, forms, bookings and sales. Then we report on them in plain English.

Project from $2,800 · Included in retainers · prices plus GST

Who it’s for

Analytics for Melbourne businesses that want a straight answer.

For owners who can’t say where last month’s enquiries came from, and for businesses about to spend on Google Ads or Meta. The worst tracking problems aren’t missing data. They are wrong data that looks fine, and automated bidding chases whatever you tell it is a conversion, so a bad definition costs money every day it runs.

What’s included

What’s included in analytics setup.

GA4 setup or rebuild with conversion events that match your real business goals

An audit of every conversion action your ad accounts bid on: which are Primary, and whether each one counts a real lead

A written definition of a qualified enquiry, agreed with you before we report on one

Server-side tracking where it is worth the cost, so fewer enquiries go uncounted

A dashboard for the people who need it: owner, marketing, sales

Conversion tracking across Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, Klaviyo

Tracking set up so form content and sensitive details are not sent to analytics platforms

Training so your team can read the dashboards without us

How it runs · three stages, in order

How we set up your tracking.

The engagement

01 AuditWhat’s tracked, what’s broken, what’s missing, including the conversions your ad accounts optimise towards.
02 RebuildTwo-week sprint to fix tagging and rebuild dashboards.
03 HandoverWritten notes and a 60-minute training session, so you can run it without us.

Tracking is what makes the other work accountable. Google Ads is optimised against the conversions we set up, SEO reporting puts rankings next to revenue, and automated follow-up reports leads, bookings and show-ups in one dashboard.

Conversion events

GA4 conversion events for service businesses.

A service business needs fewer events than most GA4 setups carry. The ones that matter:

  • Contact clicks. A tap on call, message or book.
  • Form start. Someone typed into the first field of an enquiry form.
  • Lead. The enquiry actually sent, recorded once.

Tracking the start separately from the send shows whether people abandon the form or never reach it. We record that someone enquired, never what they wrote: no names, emails or message text go into Analytics. Then we check the count against something outside Analytics, such as the enquiry alert emails.

The audit

What we check in an analytics audit.

  • Conversions that count the wrong thing. A conversion action set on a page view rather than a form submission counts every visit to the contact page as a lead. We have seen this in accounts we have taken over. Anything that isn’t a completed enquiry moves to Secondary, so bidding uses real enquiries.
  • Test traffic in live reports. Preview builds carrying live tags inflate lead counts.
  • Privacy settings. Where data is sensitive, enhanced conversions stay off and the analytics tag can come off the paid path altogether.

Reporting

What your dashboard and reports show.

Reporting starts from one question: how many qualified enquiries came in, and what did each cost? We agree what counts as qualified before the first report.

Each report is written for the owner, in three parts:

  1. What happened.
  2. What it means, and what we recommend.
  3. What we need from you: five questions at most.

For most small businesses that is a Google Sheet with a plain-English log and a tab defining every figure. Looker Studio suits teams where several people read the same data.

Where we draw the line

What we won’t do.

  • Send form contents, names, emails or health details to analytics or ad platforms.
  • Report traffic as if it were results.
  • Recommend deleting a page because it gets few search clicks.

A tracking project starts from $2,800 and covers the audit, rebuild and handover. On a retainer, analytics setup and reporting are included.

Common questions

Analytics & GA4 FAQs.

If you spend more than $5K/month on paid media or rely on email for revenue: yes. iOS, ad blockers and browser changes have made client-side tracking unreliable.

Yes. Server-side Conversions API for Meta, Google, TikTok and others.

A tracking project starts from $2,800. Analytics setup and reporting are included in our retainers.

They count differently. Google Ads credits a conversion to the date of the ad click, while GA4 records the date the event happened, and each applies its own attribution. We decide which system is the source for each number and write that into your report’s definitions.

No. You add us as a user on GA4, Tag Manager, Search Console and your ad accounts, and you can remove us at any time.

Give it a couple of days. GA4 keeps processing events for up to 48 hours, so we don’t diagnose anything newer than that, and we check the first week of data against a source outside Analytics.
